Have you ever felt like finding your voice and speaking your truth can feel like an uphill battle?
You may feel stifled or unsure of yourself, and as though your authentic self is hiding just out of reach.
I can certainly relate to this.
Growing up, I was one of the most shy kids ever. Like, ever.
It took so much for me to feel comfortable openly and freely expressing myself. Whoever happened to be one of those people I could express myself around was one of a chosen few.
Although I've grown so much over the years and have increasingly become more comfortable stepping into my own authenticity, it's something I really struggle with at times still.
There are many ways that you can develop your ability to express yourself authentically and speak your truth.
One in particular that I'm sharing with you today relates to the clearing and tuning of the throat chakra.
Now you may be wondering, "What the heck is a chakra and what does that have to do with how I express myself?
Let's explore, my friend.
In the vast tapestry of ancient wisdom and spiritual practices, the concept of chakras holds a significant place. These energy centers, as described in Vedic tradition, play a crucial role in our well-being, influencing everything from physical health to spiritual awakening.
As one of the seven chakras, the throat chakra is responsible for communication and self-expression.
When it's blocked or misaligned, we may feel like we're constantly struggling to find our voice. In this blog post, we’ll explore how you can tune and clear your throat chakra to find your authentic self and speak your truth.
Before diving into how to tune and clear your throat chakra, let's first explore what the chakras are.
The concept of chakras originated from ancient Vedic wisdom, and they are deeply connected with meditation, mindfulness, and spiritual growth.
The chakras are often visualized as wheels or vortexes of energy along the spine, each with its unique qualities and characteristics.
Here's a brief overview of all seven chakras:
The throat chakra is the gateway to authentic self-expression. It's represented as a beautiful, vibrant blue sphere of energy.
This chakra holds the power of clear communication, truth, and creativity.
When in balance, it allows you to voice your thoughts, feelings, and ideas with confidence, and it enables you to be a better listener.
However, life's challenges, self-doubt, and fear can often cause this chakra to become blocked or unbalanced. This can manifest as difficulty in finding your voice, fear of speaking up, or being unable to communicate your authentic self to the world.
To realign and clear the throat chakra, consider the guidance of Deepak Chopra. In his book "Abundance: The Inner Path to Wealth," he introduces the use of mantras specific to each chakra.
For the throat chakra, the Sanskrit mantra is "Ham" (pronounced Hum). Mantras are simple yet powerful sounds that connect us to our inner wisdom. These sounds were reportedly heard by ancient seers and are considered profound tools for balancing our chakras.
Here's a meditation that can help you tune and clear your throat chakra:
1. Find a quiet, comfortable place to sit with your eyes closed.
2. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.
3. Choose a centering thought that resonates with your intention.
It could be "I am free expression" or "I speak my truth."
4. Say your chosen centering thought silently to yourself just once, allowing its meaning to settle in your awareness.
5. Observe what happens next. You might hear words, recall a memory, or experience a sensation. Simply observe what happens without judgement or responding to it in any way. Allow it to pass.
6. Repeat your chosen centering thought silently to yourself again. Allow whatever comes to the surface to be, without judgement.
7. Repeat this process for 10-20 minutes.
8. Finish by resting for a few more minutes and silently repeating the throat chakra mantra, Ham (pronounced hum).
Many different experiences can occur when you meditate on your chosen centering thought. By being in awareness, you allow yourself to move more deeply and deeply to connecting authentically with that thought until you believe it 100%.
Be patient with yourself, as you will not have the same experience every time you meditate.
If you've been struggling to find your voice or speak your truth, the answer may lie in your throat chakra. By incorporating practices like mantras, intentional meditation, and physical and emotional self-care, you can tune and clear this important energy center.
With a cleared and balanced throat chakra, you'll be able to express yourself fully and authentically, both in your relationships and in your daily life.
Clearing and balancing the throat chakra can pave the way for you to confidently find your voice, speak your truth, and share your unique gifts with the world. It's a powerful step on your journey to self-discovery and empowerment.
So take some time to explore these practices and see what a difference they can make in your life.
